Gourmet Dinner

These expertly refurbished 1915-1917 Pullman Cars create an atmosphere conducive to relaxation and enjoyment. Meals, designed by Chef Kelly Macdonald, are prepared in a specially fabricated kitchen car located immediately adjacent to each dining area. As with all our menu choices, the meals are freshly prepared on the train using environmentally responsible ingredients; humanely raised, hormone-free meats and fresh, line-caught fish. With this option, soda, juice and alcoholic beverages are not included, but are available for purchase on board.

One of the Wine Train's Gourmet Cars

The Gourmet Car has two seatings. Guests who are assigned to first seating will be served their choice of appetizers, salads and main courses in the dining car while traveling up the valley, and will be served dessert and coffee or tea in one of the lounge cars on the return trip. Guests who are assigned to second seating will be served their appetizers and beverages in one of the lounge cars, and will enjoy their salad, entree and dessert in one of the dining cars on the return trip.

The lounge cars are luxuriously furnished and equipped with picture windows to maximize the view. All the rail cars are expertly finished with Honduran mahogany paneling, etched glass partitions, and brass accents. Guests are invited to explore the train. Interesting places on board include the kitchen car, where guests might see our chefs in action, our wine tasting bar, where our wine expert can help you find a favorite new wine, or the observation deck, where guests can enjoy an unobstructed view of the valley.
