Murder Mystery Experiences

The Murder Mystery Company organizes a number of immersive, themed murder mystery experiences on board our dinner train. Below are attire suggestions for each incredible evening:

Best Laid Plans

At Sir Warren Peace’s estate, the stage is set for a true Old-Hollywood whodunnit full of murder and intrigue. Join a cast of unsavory characters, where everyone is a potential killer, and help solve the mystery before the next victim falls. To navigate this world, you’ll need to get your hands a little dirty and look your best, bribing suspects for clues while dressed in formal attire.

Death of a Gangster

In Death of a Gangster, you’re caught in the middle of a clash of power as two crime families unite. Donning 1920s attire, your party will attend a mafia wedding at the Dunn Speakeasy—where tension boils over and someone loses their life. It’s up to you and your fellow detectives to solve the murder. Be careful—you won’t know who to trust.

Midnight at the Masquerade

Chaos ensues at the Billionaires’ Club Annual Masquerade when a murder is discovered during the opulent evening. You must solve the crime by trading clues and exchanging information with your fellow partygoers. But, in a room where identities and motives are hidden behind Venetian masks, you can only trust your intuition.

‘Til Death Do Us Part

When a member of their wedding party is murdered, a couple’s big day is turned upside down. Help a raging bride and an ambivalent groom as they haplessly hunt for the killer. You’ll need to trade clues with fellow attendees to solve the mystery at the center of this nuptial nightmare. Wedding attire is encouraged.

5:30 PM | YOUR JOURNEY BEGINS

Excitement begins to build as you check in with our team at McKinstry Street Station and join the queue to board. During a short wait, you meet the other guests and survey the room. Your instincts start to take over, telling you who you can and cannot trust.

5:50 PM | BOARDING CALL

The train whistle sounds, striking an ominous tone. Your entire journey lies ahead of you. As you wait to leave the station, “Who among us will be left standing?” passes through your mind.

6:20 PM | TIME TO DEPART

The train pulls your party forward gently, signaling it’s too late to turn back. You settle into your seat, browse the menu, select your beverage of choice, and learn the murder mystery rules of engagement.

6:30 PM | BON APPÉTIT

Over three courses, you immerse your palette in the rich flavors of world-class cuisine. With every offering, you navigate clues and tricky red herrings—building your case against the murderer until the final dramatic reveal.

8:45 PM | FAREWELL FOR NOW

You survived the high-stakes journey from Napa to Rutherford and back. Over three sumptuous courses, new friends were made in pursuit of a common enemy. Together, you sleuthed out the culprit and brought a killer to justice. Now, it’s time to say farewell. We’re already looking forward to welcoming you back for another suspenseful ride.

Murder Mystery Fun

Where do I even begin? My husband booked a murder mystery dinner experience for us and it was absolutely phenomenal! We were treated so well by EVERY single staff member we came in contact with. The food was OUT OF THIS WORLD…I am still salivating over the pumpkin soup. The murder mystery dinner theater was perfectly cheesy and so much fun to be a part of in between courses. While we unfortunately did not catch our killer, we created so many fun & lasting memories. We cannot wait to enjoy dinner on this train again. 10/10 – highly recommend as a random date or celebratory night out

Amazing Experience…Fun & Engaging!!

We dressed up to match the theme, Mystery Dinner – and were really happily surprised almost all guests did too. I am in a wheelchair now from a ankle injury, and they were very accommodating. The actors & staff were very kind, and they all did a great job making a wonderful experience. I highly recommend it!

A Fun Night of Murder

We went on The Napa Wine Train on a Saturday early evening. It was a murder mystery dinner, with a 50’s theme. Although, it is quite pricey! It was a very fun evening. We boarded around 5:30-6 pm, took a picture and were greated with a glass of sparkling wine. The actor’s were introduced, and what the murder mystery rules were.
