Spend a Friday afternoon immersing yourself in a complete Napa experience during the Wine Train’s Vintner’s Lunch featuring Judd’s Hill. Drink exquisite wines, dine on a menu artfully paired to the afternoon's vino and chat with Napa Valley Wine Train’s Executive Chef Kelly Macdonald and Judd' Hill's Judd Finkelstein while you gaze upon Napa’s vineyards from your elevated booth in the Wine Train’s 1952 Vista Dome Car. Due to the extreme popularity of vintner's lunches, this event is seated with others. Parties of two may be seated with other parties of two.
Vintner’s Lunch Includes: Multiple course gourmet meal, 3 glasses of pre-selected wine, and a ride in the Vista Dome Car.
About Judd's Hill
"Having a good time making great wine with family" is Judd’s Hill’s motto! Beginning as garage winemakers, the Finkelstein family has been producing legendary wines in the Napa Valley since the 1970s, when they created Whitehall Lane Winery. Now, Judd Finkelstein and his wife Holly, continue to hand-craft ultra-premium wines in the same heartfelt and intimate style embraced by his parents more than thirty years ago.
About Judd Finklestein
Judd was raised in Napa Valley. He graduated from The Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Telecommunication at Arizona State University with a bachelor's degree in Television Production, but you might say winemaking was in his blood. Since he was a tot, his parents were making wine. From pruning to picking to punching to pressing, Judd has been involved in every facet of winemaking, and he also studied winemaking at UC Davis and Napa Valley College.
One of Judd's other passions is playing his ukulele, both solo and with his band, The Maikai Gents Featuring The Mysterious Miss Mauna Loa. "We perform old-time Hawaiian crooning in the Hapa-Haole style. We started because I wanted some Hawaiian music for a birthday luau I was having for myself and couldn't get the entertainer I wanted. Why the ukulele?" Someone needed to play it! We thought a ukulele would round out our sound....and I haven't put it down in three years!" Judd and Holly enjoy simple dinner parties for friends; one of their specialties is concocting tropical taste treats for the luau set!
