The Russian River Valley, originally settled by Russian immigrants in the early 1800s, thrives from the coastal influences of the Pacific Ocean which makes it an outstanding region for growing cool climate grapes. Known for producing exceptional Burgundian varietals, most notably Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, other varietals, such as Sauvignon Blanc, Zinfandal and Syrah, are now flourishing as well.
