What a joy to ride the Wine Train! As a Napa resident, my sister has often bought an Engineer's Club Card. So for my 80th Birthday she persuaded me to buy one too and we took my son and his wife along with us as guests, when they came from Hawaii. I had enjoyed holidays by super deluxe trains in England. However, the Wine Train experience was even more gratifying.

Now, I have to visit places in a transport wheeled chair. I got out of my car to ride the train and just stayed put in my transport chair all the way onto the train, up the valley and back, and into my car with no commotion or fuss about entry or exit. The train access for we who are mobility challenged is marvelous! I felt like I was truly welcome and not a bother, as I often feel. I was even greeted by the red headed Scot, Chef Macdonald, who told us all about that day's menu. My comment on the soup was noted and he said that he'd make any soup I liked, I would just have to call in advance and let him know that I would be riding his train on a specific day. Spring was all over the Napa Valley. Everything was waking up! Such a time it was to let the engineer do the driving and for me to do the oo-ing and ahh-ing in the familiar comfort of my own chair. What a day it was! To be repeated at other times of the year with different views and just as much satisfaction.
