The Napa Valley Wine Train is a collection of 14 different curated experiences activated in one of 2 different trains, year-round. The refined smaller train features one experience daily, the 6-hour Legacy Experience, where the passengers start the journey as strangers and return to the station best friends.
Our Main Train features all of our other 13 experiences. These experiences are hosted in their own respective train cars and share either our 3-hour lunch or 2.5 hour dinner schedule. Tasting Experiences feature wine included in the experience.

Your Wine Train ticket is a step back in time to the golden age of travel. All tickets include a train ride aboard the one-of-a-kind historic Wine Train through the heart of Napa Valley’s world-famous wine growing region.
Journeys take place in one of our artfully restored train cars, from 1915–1917 Pullman Cars to one of only three remaining 1952 Super Domes. The Super Domes offer second-floor seating beneath a glass roof, opening to sweeping views during your ride. Aboard the train, your journey comes to life with a multi-course gourmet dining experience. You’ll choose your meal from a menu, just as you would in a traditional restaurant.
Our onboard hospitality professionals, true stewards of Napa, care for your experience, serve tables, and share their knowledge of winemaking, tasting, grape growing, and Napa’s history. The result is an experience that’s both enjoyable and educational.

Or, for those seeking a more relaxed pace, our Vista Dome Lunch offers a perfect opportunity to unwind while enjoying gourmet dining and stunning views of the Napa Valley from a different perspective.
Our Gourmet Express Lunch, offers a reduced $109 rate for riders aged 12 and under. All four Santa Train experiences offer adult and child pricing. All other train experiences have the same ticket price for everyone, regardless of age. Age requirements for each experience are clearly listed.
Kids love our Gourmet Express Lunch. Children 12 and under ride for just $109, enjoying a three-hour journey and multi-course meal. The menu, while gourmet, offers a wide selection of favorites for all ages and dining restrictions.The experience is an elegant but fun three-hour train ride, typically featuring quiet spaces where children can take a break and explore away from other guests.
During the holidays, join us on our Santa Train Jolly Journeys. Our Santa Train has become a beloved family tradition over its 32-year history onboard the Napa Valley Wine Train. Many parents and grandparents who experienced the magic as children now bring their own kids aboard for this special holiday adventure.
While we don’t allow outside alcohol, our passion for Napa Valley’s vineyards shines through in our carefully selected wine list, designed to be the perfect companion for your journey.
Yes, you may bring your own bottle on board for an additional corkage fee. If you purchase wine from our Wine Shop, enjoy a reduced corkage fee per bottle. Explore a carefully curated selection of wines to complement your experience or savor for later.
While wine is in our name, we offer much more! Our talented team of onboard servers and bartenders take great pride in their RXR-inspired craft cocktail program. Plus, we offer a great selection of popular beers, including some local microbrews, and our mocktails are sure to please, featuring Wilderton Non-Alcoholic Spirits.
After dinner, strike gold with our specialty coffee and dessert drinks, including our famous Millionaire Coffee, named after Napa Valley Railroad founder Samuel Brannan.
The Wine Train operates 3 distinct schedules:
Our smaller consist called the Legacy Train, operating 10:15am – 4:14pm daily, is a 6-hour quintessential journey through Napa Valley including, a gourmet 4-course meal, 3 wine tasting stops, 11 wine tastes, and dancing in the open air car en route back to the Station.
Our larger consist of 9 passenger cars called the Main Train hosts all of our other 14 experiences in 2 regular train 3-hour lunch or 2.5-hour dinner schedules. Lunch operates from 11:30am – 2:30pm and dinner from 6:20pm – 8:50pm.
The Napa Valley Wine Train offers stops, including disembarking at wineries, with the Legacy Experience and Grgich Hills Estate Tasting, which includes winery tastings in the ticket price. Seasonally, the Wine Train also offers a fine wine Library Tasting experience at Grgich Hills Estate and during harvest season a Grape Stomp experience where you crush grapes the old-fashioned way while sipping on great Napa wines! Wine Train guests are greeted with a welcome glass of sparkling wine upon boarding. The Wine Train operates year-round, and Napa Valley being part of the world’s very special 2% Mediterranean climate, sets the scene for temperate outdoor enjoyment year round. While Napa enjoys a full 4 seasons, important to the grape growing cycle, there is something unique about the scenic vistas no matter the season.

The Main Train operates daily lunch service and dinner on weekends. The Legacy Train offers our special 6-hour excursion with 3 wine tasting stops, 4-course meal, and dancing onboard the train on our way back to the station.
