Ambassador Winery Tour

Raymond Vineyards Logo Glass with Wine Grapes

Raymond Vineyards

Krug Wines

Charles Krug Winery

The Ambassador Winery Tour is more than simply a tour of two of the Napa Valley's most famous wineries, it is a tour of almost the whole Napa Valley. You will have priority seating and will board the train as soon as it arrives at the station. Once seated, you will be served a freshly prepared lunch from our on board kitchen. Marvel at the beautiful western side of the Napa Valley through the expansive picture windows in our dining car as you travel north. After lunch, transfer to a luxury motorcoach which will transport you to your first stop.

Charles Krug Winery, established in 1861 by a Prussian immigrant, was the first winery in Napa Valley. Now under the guidance of Peter Mondavi Sr., the Charles Krug Winery honors its roots while forging ahead to the future. What started with relatively humble beginnings gave way to the finest form of winemaking.

apa Valley Wine Train Ambassador Tour, Charles Krug

Guests enjoying tastings at Charles Krug Winery

Boarding the motorcoach once more, the tour travels along the Silverado Trail, on the east side of the Napa Valley, to Raymond Vineyards. Located in the very heart of the Napa Valley's wine growing region, but still off the beaten path, Raymond Vineyards is passionate for fine wine in an environment of exploration, creativity, and elegant whimsy. Upon arriving at Raymond's "Theater of Nature", your winery tour will begin with an introduction to Raymond's history and organic farming practices. Walk between the vine rows and learn what it means to grow biodynamic grapes. Then test yourself with a sensory evaluation designed to help you identify the flavors and aromas in wine. See the machinery and facilities involved in the crushing, fermentation, bottling and storage of wine as you explore Raymond's extensive production space. Finally, finish your tour with an opportunity to purchase some of Raymond's wines.

This is a SEATED WITH OTHERS event.  Wine on board the Train is not included.

A leisurely half hour ride southbound on the rest of the scenic Silverado Trail takes guests back to the Wine Train Station.

In the spirit of traditional rail seating, you will share a table with another party on our winery tours. All of our winery tours require moderate stair climbing and standing for extended periods. We encourage guests who may have difficulty performing these two activities to consider our regular Lunch Packages.
