Since 1864, our rails have been a principal source of travel through Napa Valley. It’s a history almost as old as the state of California. Learn how we preserve and keep our train rolling.
Napa Valley Vine Trail
The Napa Valley Vine Trail will be a 47-mile pedestrian and cyclist pathway intending to connect the Valley from Vallejo to Calistoga. With a great portion of the trail running on Wine Train property, parallel to our tracks, it’s another way to experience the natural beauty of California Wine Country. Currently, we’re helping develop a segment from Yountville to St. Helena, with half of this section covering Wine Train land.
Created by the Napa Valley Vine Trail Coalition, a grass-roots non-profit organization, the Vine Trail doesn’t only connect the Valley geographically. It aims to unite the art and culture of Napa while creating a stunning thoroughfare for walkers, hikers, and cyclists in the process. Family- and pet-friendly, everyone is welcome to take advantage of free access to this expansive outdoor destination.
Like the Wine Train, the Napa Valley Vine Trail is a fixture in the Napa community, offering and supporting a variety of cultural programs. Whether educational efforts, like the Outdoor Classroom Curriculum and Interpretive Panels, that connect student development to the Napa landscape or partnering with artistically-minded endeavors, like the Rail Arts District Napa and its outdoor museum, the Vine Trail shares our mission of cultivating the heart and soul of the Valley.
