Nostalgia fills the air on the Gourmet Express. Experience the classic romance and luxury of the golden age of train travel during the early 1900s— when guests were invited to explore the trains beyond their private quarters.

Gourmet Express Dinner

Guests aboard the evening Gourmet Express journey will indulge in three sumptuous courses, all served in our exquisitely refurbished Pullman dining car. As the train moves through the Valley at golden hour, passengers can visit one of three kitchen cars, where our talented culinary team crafts fresh Wine Country-inspired fare.

10:30 AM | Your Journey Begins

You check-in at Mckinstry Street Station and queue to board as the excitement for your journey begins to build. While waiting to board, you learn about the Wine Train’s history and restoration efforts.

11:00 AM | Welcome Aboard

You board the train and take your seat, ready for an indulgent experience. You’re only moments away from a sumptuous multi-course lunch complemented by incredible Napa Valley views. Time to toast your travel companions with your welcome glass of bubbly.

11:30 AM | Time to Depart

The whistle calls and the train pulls out of the station. Settle into your surroundings aboard a decadent three-hour journey and savor epicurean delights as you weave through the breathtaking countryside.

12:00 PM | Bon Appétit

A gourmet lunch is served from of our 1090 onboard kitchen car, featuring a delectable appetizer and your choice of entrée. As you finish your last bite, dessert is delivered accompanied by coffee or tea for the return trip.

2:30 PM | Farewell For Now

After three hours of indulgent delights, your ride concludes. We say farewell but look forward to welcoming you back to the Wine Train and the midday decadence of the Gourmet Express.

Our Napa Valley Wine Train Experience

My husband and I took the Gourmet Express/Lunch Napa Valley Wine Train. Our waiter and team were excellent

A Gourmet Lunch

It’s a relaxing ride through wine country. Started the journey on one side of the train, switched to the other for the second half. Food was well prepared and beautifully presented. It’s awesome how they prepare all of this within the constraints of a box car kitchen.

Amazing Experience

This was a fantastic experience (even as a non-wine drinker!) I booked it for my husband’s birthday present and we both absolutely loved it. It really felt like a real treat. Sitting in the bar area first looking into the vineyards was amazing. Then the food and service was absolutely incredible. I would recommend this trip to anyone… So romantic and just brilliant!

Nice Ride Thru The Vineyards

We enjoyed our Gourmet Express Lunch trip. We had the early meal seating which worked out as we skipped breakfast to enjoy the meal. Overall we thought our dishes were very good. It is a gourmet treat and experience to ride the rails. We also really enjoyed the ride back, Millionaire Coffee went great with our desserts. I would consider doing this again in a few years. If you are short on time while in Napa, doing a tasting package, while even more pricey, is not a bad option.

Surprise Day Ride for the Lil Lady

Pulled in just to look place over and lucky as it be,we were able to grab one last seat and enjoy the three hour ride and three course meal. the train ride and scenery of napa valley was outstanding as well as lunch. what a great way to spend a few hours on our first California vacation.

Napa Wine Train, A Must!

Wine trail was wonderful. Food & wine was excellent! Our server was the best, we ever had . Her name was Claudia, super knowledgeable, friendly and funny. She was very attentive and always smiling.just great personality. Train was beautiful make sure and take lots of pictures on the different trains.
